Do I get Paid to eat? And other Questions.

Here are some questions I get asked and the answers.

Q: Do I get paid to eat from the restaurants that I blog on?

A:  No I do not get paid from any restaurant that I blog on, nor do I receive any free food.  They never know that I blogged them until I leave them my calling card that says "You've Just Been Blogged"
I get taken out to eat by friends and family.  I receive gift cards for holidays and birthdays.  I love to eat and I love to cook when I am able as I am disabled and miss cooking.  I decided to use my love of foods to share my experiences with others.
Q:  Is this your job?

A: It is a hobby.

Q: How did you decide to start blogging about food & restaurants?

A: There is nothing like going to a restaurant and not knowing what the atmosphere is like, the prices, if it is clean, and if it is family friendly.  I developed this blog so that you will be able to pull up my blog on your mobile device or computer before you go out to eat.  Or if your friend suddenly suggests you go eat somewhere and you have no idea if you have enough $$$ in your pocket to eat there, you can check my blog to find out!
Also you don't want to take your kiddos into a place where kids and you are uncomfortable :)

Q: Why are your blogs mostly positive?

A.  I usually give a restaurant the benefit of the doubt, and post the positive side of things.  Maybe I had a bad day and thus I did not like something.  So I try to look at my blogging from a more scientific point of view, using a "formula". I do not want to give someone a bad review when maybe they were having a bad day.  However, If something is just bad, it's just bad and I will definitely let you know.

Q: You said you use a formula?

A:  Yes. I look at the cleanliness, of the restaurant and restrooms, the friendliness of the staff overall, the price of food compared to like restaurants, type of clientele they attract (ie. families or adults only), atmosphere, entertainment (only if they have any and the type), the beverage type (some folks don't like Pepsi), the type of food offered, how tasty the food is for my pallet as well as my kiddos and fiancees.
I will never say food is horrible because everyone's taste is different. I will however tell you if my potato was burnt, steak was over cooked, if the salsa is hot for us or mild, if the lettuce is wilted, etc.

Q: So do you eat out all the time?

A: Goodness No I live on a very low budget. LOL.  I do post a lot of blogs all at one time. Usually 3 each time I post.  Some blogs are from restaurants I frequented over the years and I put an average of my experiences.  Other blogs are from places that I have eaten at in the last year or more and have not gotten around to blogging them. Occasionally I will blog from a friends or families point of view, but that will be indicated in the blog.

Q: I noticed you are partial or bias to Coca-Cola?

A: Yes, I must confess I am addicted to Coca-Cola products.  Nothing ruins my meal like not having my drink of choice.  I absolutely do not like Pepsi, just my point of view and preference.  So I like to let others know, just in-case they like Pepsi and not Coca-Cola. :0
